Giving to Cap and Gown

Every contribution, regardless of size, is vital to our organization.

Dues
Your dues payments cover the costs of sponsoring events for the actives, such as Tapping Tea, Life After Stanford, Spring Luncheon, and Graduation Tea.  In addition, your dues fund the publication of our annual newsletter and cover our other operating costs.

Annual dues are $35 for general alumnae and $25 for actives and alumnae graduates within the last 5 years. We appreciate any additional contribution that you can make.

Scholarships
There are six Cap and Gown scholarships administered by Stanford University (each with its 5 letter Stanford code):

  • The Cap and Gown Centennial Scholarship Fund (KASOO)
  • The Cap and Gown Scholarship Fund (KASOP)
  • The Sandra Day O’Connor Cap and Gown Scholarship Fund (KAWBP)
  • The Margaret C. Barr Cap and Gown Scholarship Fund (KAVOG)
  • The Rosamond Clarke Bacon Cap and Gown Scholarship (KAVNT)
  • The Bettye Luhnow Bailey Cap and Gown Scholarship (KAAGF)

These six scholarships currently enable six women to attend Stanford with financial assistance.  If you do not have a specific scholarship that you would like to support, we suggest you choose The Cap and Gown Centennial Scholarship Fund.

To donate to one of our scholarships, please click on a link below:

If you are donating to one of our scholarships by credit card via the link above, make sure to specify that you wish to benefit one of the Cap and Gown scholarships. You do this by choosing:

  • “Other” at the first question
  • “Other Designation” when they ask again,
  • and then in the “Special Instructions/Other Designation” section write in one of the above six Cap and Gown scholarships with its five letter Stanford code.

Paying dues or donating to a Cap and Gown scholarship by credit card requires you to be registered online (with a user name and password) with the Stanford Alumni Association.  If you need to register, go to the Stanford Alumni Association website and click on “Log in” under “Welcome!”
