Active Members

New members are inducted as actives at Tapping Tea, the traditional induction ceremony.  Actives are expected to maintain a vibrant role in Cap and Gown by brainstorming, planning, organizing, and running events aligned with the mission of the organization.  As such, actives are the crux of Cap and Gown.

Each actives class consists of undergraduates in their junior or senior year who have applied and been accepted in Fall Quarter.  The actives' applications have been assessed by the Actives Board in various criteria, including demonstrated leadership, academic achievement, and commitment and contribution to Stanford and the community at large.  More information for potential applicants can be found here.

Upon graduation, actives become alumnae, organizing events with the actives, as well as serving as mentors.
